monday jan 12

candy sale meeting this monday, jan 12 at the church (we will sign up for dishes to bring for wednesdays potluck)

candy sale kickoff potluck is on wednesday jan 14th at the church 6 - 7:30pm. there will be several other groups there with us as well as the horizon girls putting on skits and entertaining the girls. this is a fun event as well as informative for the parents. the girls will get to see what prizes they are working for, it is more organized this year.

i need a volunteer parent to be at the potluck at 5:30 to help set up, i will be coming from work and may be a few minutes late.

i will be picking up the candy at the council myself and delivering it to jami on monday jan 15th, thank you jami for being the candy sale chairperson this year, i really appreciate your help!! candy pick up needs to be arranged with jami.

this year we have isabellas candy to sell as a group (she will come up for a weekend to help sell) and emily is going to take on extra candy as well. i am so excited this year to really get out there and support our council and make some extra money for our group. thank you in advance for giving your kids this awesome experience and lets get out there together and have fun!

anyone having difficulty selling, please let us know asap so we can help you. if you want extra candy, by all means, please sell it! just let jami or myself know and we can pick it up for you. our long beach council is struggling and every penny helps keep it running (and helps keep our fantastic camp shiwaka going!)

one last thing, please, let THE GIRLS sell the candy, just get them to the stores/banks and let them take pride in supporting our group. it's their responsibility and you wont regret giving them that challenge. last year i took neighbor friends with us to sell candy and guess what? one of them had so much fun, her mom started a group (samantha potter). camp fire curriculum includes the selling of candy, it has a purpose within all the fun stuff we do. it teaches responsibility and gives the girls pride in taking action, actually doing something to help the organization. it really is meaningful and worthwhile, so try to embrace it if you can. i know in our crazy busy lives, this can be a big pain in the (butt) neck, so i hope you all know how much i appreciate your help during candy sales.

thanks for all your support!

see you on monday jan 12th!
