next meeting is ava's on monday may 16th (new date) at her house 3109 Karen at 6:30 we will be cooking dinner, yum!
saturday june 4th is our sea lion visit scheduled for 2:30 we will meet at seal beach for a picnic lunch at 1pm and then head on down to the sea lion refuge. please bring a sack lunch and drink, dress according to the weather. i will send out an email and update the blog with the exact meeting spot. so far i have myself, christine and ivy who can drive (i think kim was also interested) let me know if you want to arrange for drop off and pick up or you want to drive and attend with the group. the fee for this event is paid for by our candy sale money so its FREE!!
june 6 is nicoles meeting
june 13th is the last meeting of the year, sammy hosts and we will be at wardlow park 6:30pm, pizza will be served and siblings and family are welcome to join us.
registration packets will be handed out at the next meeting, please fill out the forms and get them back to me by the last meeting (june 13)

grand council fire 2011
grand council fire was lots of fun this year, a longer than usual ceremony but exciting as well. it was very inspiring to hear about all the wo he lo medallion recipients and to feel all the good emotions from their families.
next up: los cerritos wetlands this saturday may 7th from 10:30 to 12:30.... eat a big breakfast, wear a hat, your new blue t-shirts, closed toe shoes please, sunscreen and water. gloves to protect your hands is a great idea too.

garden event
thanks to all of you who helped me with my garden!! it looks amazing and is ready for tomatoes to go in soon. stay tuned for another garden bead workshop coming up!!

here are some upcoming events:
Monday Feb 21st (school holiday) you can earn several beads by helping me at my community garden plot. we will be pulling weeds and planting spring plants to harvest in the summer. wear junky clothes and shoes, bring garden gloves if you have them. we will meet at 10am at the spca gate (i have a clicker to get you in, please be on time, if you come late it will be hard for us to know you are outside the gate). tell the parking lot booth attendant you are meeting someone at the community garden and they will let you drive back (left turn into the spca road) drop off is fine, pick up at 11:30am. we will harvest in the summer.
Monday Feb 28th Emily/Lily host a solar system meeting at the church 630-730pm
we will be silkscreening wetlands t-shirts. please bring 1 or 2 blue shirts (not too light, we will be using white paint) these can be worn at upcoming wetland events!!
Monday March 7th Delaney's meeting
Friday March 11th Ice cream social at the Armory to celebrate Camp Fire's 102 birthday. 6:30 to 8:30pm. All ice cream and supplies will be provided, just show up. There will be a trivia type game that parents must participate in so please sit with your child when the trivia game is announced. We will be earning our Camp Fire birthday patch, if you attend this event you will earn 3 of the 4 requirements by attending this event. wear your vest to school one day in the month of march and you will earn the patch. i will hand out the requirements list for you to check off and return to me. you can choose 4 items on the list of your choice if you miss the ice cream social.

Meet at the entrance to the church fellowship hall IN UNIFORM PLEASE, nice and neat to greet the fellowship members. no real change from the last few years we have done this event. we need a lot of people so please try and attend.

Everyone needs to attend at least one los cerritos wetlands restoration event to fulfill the requirements for our final fire builder patch/pin. If you cannot attend on May 7th please let me know asap so i can give you an alternative wetlands project. there are options available at los cerritos wetlands and the colorado lagoon. there is a new parking lot at the wetlands: turn left at 2nd/westminster where studebaker dead ends, on the right is a parking lot with signs to direct you in. if you get to island village houses you have gone too far.

"trust" meeting
fatima did an awesome job running our trust meeting tonight. thank you so much fatima for such a well planned meeting, you rocked it!! we learned to trust each other and i hope everyone felt closer to their camp fire friends after playing these fun games together.

Ok, deep breath everyone! This will be a busy month!!
Jan 3rd Surf shop meeting with Kim/Ryann Albin (info on previous post)
Jan 10th Monday: Collar workshop 6:30p at the church, bring 25 dollar deposit so we can order the leather for your collar. We will go over the color chart and talk about collar design. A parent is encouraged to stay and help at this meeting so each girl gets the attention needed to feel good about their chosen design.
Jan 11th Tuesday Candy Sale kickoff event at the Amory 2200 Redondo Ave, Long Beach start time approx 6pm, potluck dinner, each person to bring one item to donate. we will have sign up sheets for the sell locations, the kids will be separate from adults so we can have a mini parent meeting.
Candy Sales starts Jan 14th Jean Potter is our candy chair. we will discuss everything about candy sales at the kick off jan 11th, please attend!
Jan 24th Meeting hosted by Natalie (30mins) and Elise (30 minutes) at the church 6:30pm
Jan 31st Mandatory meeting at the council to work on the collars designed on Jan 10th. One parent must attend for each girl to work on the collar, i will personally be busy helping emily with hers. Balance for collar is due (30$, total is 55$ for collar) 6pm to 8pm. We have Dick Davis coming to help us with the special leather tools so if you miss this meeting, there is really no make up for it. Making the collars is a historic event for the girls. they will be receiving them at grand council fire this coming may when they "fly up" to DISCOVERY level!! wow!!
